...should come and give me a massage right now, 'cause I'm back babes~ Animazement was amazing good fun, oh goodness gracious~! I literally did get the full convention experience this time, and while my legs don't seem to want to move anymore and my body is hoping to sleep seven years with my sword, I am literally just so. Content. My dog darn near had a heart attack to see me come home, and Razzy is a giddy kitty and it's just a great way to describe everything.
Had fun with my friends who got to pop their con cherries and just go all out, and they all got some nice con swag like figurines, posters, plushes, and Pokemon badges. I got some pretty cute Pokemon stuff because holyhellartistalleyhadtoomuchadorabletogoaround. But the highlights were totally getting to have fun cosplaying (and damn I had to learn a lot about makeup, false eyelashes are sort of my best friends now) aaaaand getting to meet the lovely ~NefariousSandshrew who is just as delightful and lovely and charming as a basket of kittens or something of equal goodness and fun.
Let it be said I now have a direct witness to just how neurotic and out of my mind I can become thanks to all this anxiety pumping under my skin. Like literally, I have no blood, it's liquid anxiety and my white blood vessels are actually weak glass cases of emotion and I bled out like whoa. Friday night I was Rise Kujikawa from Persona 4 and got to attend a Persona shoot so that was fun~! There was another cute Rise, some nice protags, a nice Yosuke, a lovely Adachi, and everyone else was nice too. Hung out with pals and got to play the awkward game, which shouldn't be a real game but apparently it's how I function haha, and I got some pictures of some lovely cosplays I saw, and gosh was it amazing to start seeing live cosplayers again~! Saturday was Heaven meets Hell bahaha. Saturday was the big day, and that meant Lightning and all her goodness and damn I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun.
Conceited moment or whatever, I was really proud of my Lightning cosplay since I love my wig and my sword and I even got the self-made pauldron on in time, and now I definitely don't think it's fair to myself at the moment to be all hateful and I'll just say I think I looked nice and apparently so did the many people who wanted pictures ;u; (it was just like the best feeling ever to be asked so many times...and sort of flattering and irritating when people didn't ask and just sneakily took them when I wasn't looking?) No lie, I'm looking forward to surfing the AZ forum and the sites a few photographers listed on the cards they gave me so I can see some shots of my fabulous self haha, ohgawdpleasetellmeIwon'tlookabsolutelyawful. I also got to go a little bonkers from heat and exhaustion I suppose? Apparently I communicate via a lot of laughing at that point, so it had to have been amusing for my company, at least when he wasn't afraid I'd just collapse in a heap of pathetic and disheveled wig. But even then yo, I was so responsible and on top of things like badges and carrying things in Lightning's convenient side bag haha~
Also, you all should be so jealous of me. I got photos of one of the suavest cosplays ever and holy hell suavest is a word. That's totes sexy, but yes, I got nice pics and others...gosh darn I have so many photos to sort through tonight x'D I'll hopefully put up a collage like I did last year of the pics I took, and if I have any good ones of myself I might share those too, my guess is that they'll probably not be the greatest quality though because my camera sucks, and maybe I'm just more impressive in person? Ahaha...Saturday night a lovely person in Artist Alley gave me a bit of a discount on something adorable because they liked my cosplay, so talk about score, I love the AA <3
Sunday was more Lightning fun and more photos, so more excitement and ego stroking~! I also impulse splurged on this like, impossibly stupidly soft, tiny cat plush that I stuck in one of my front pockets. I realized later that all the people who took pictures after that will go look at them later and be all like "lolwat there's a doll in her pocket - DELETE." Only silly thing was I was sort of dead on my feet, and my legs were also dead. I appreciate anyone who asks for photos (I felt awful for refusing a few people on Saturday because of a thing, mostly because a super sweet Sailor Venus was super cute, I wish I had seen her earlier I would have wanted her picture too :c) but I am both amused, irked, and ajjgsjg about one memorable request this morning. I needed to sit down and rest for a bit so my friends followed me to a quiet spot and I was the first to sit down and due to Light's outfit (read: skirt) once I sat down I could not move. For some reason my friends sat a bit a ways away? Lol I dunno, but I was kinda nodding off and just sort of rocking, totes out of it, and two guys came over to ask for a photo and I just remember jolting awake and trying to talk and move at the same time. Since I'm not exactly functioning 100% even when I'm lucid, you can imagine how that turned out.
Nonetheless, this was like, the very best weekend ever and I would never trade it for anything. I got to have lots of fun, I got to spend time with some great people, got to meet an absolutely fantabulous friend, and just wow, I think more words just wouldn't, couldn't cover just what I feel for this weekend. So here's a big thank you to the universe and to the wonderful people in it who know who they are <3 Now let's hope the universe ALSO liked my cosplay and that I got some nice pictures right~?
